Coach Glenn is a CF Level 2 Trainer and Co-Owner at Equis Fitness. He was introduced to CrossFit in 2008 at Capital CrossFit in Northern Virginia. As a former high school soccer player, he was immediately impressed by the philosophy of CrossFit training - to become an all-around fitter person for life. After just a few months of regular WODs, he began competing in the MAAC (Mid-Atlantic Affiliate Challenge) and did so for 3 years.
Coach Jen aka "JGO" is a CF Level 2 Trainer and Co-Owner at Equis Fitness. Having no athletic experience outside of CrossFit, but growing up as an active tomboy kept her competitive and busy. After multiple knee surgeries during college that caused inactivity and weight-gain, in 2013 upon completion of her MFA in Interior Design, she became determined to be proactive about her health and fitness regimen.
She stumbled upon friends who were talking about CrossFit online, and found a box to join near her parent’s home in The Bronx.
In 2014 she became a CF Level 1 trainer organizing events and teaching Kids and Beginner’s CrossFit classes. She’s competed in local events such as Flex on the Beach, Flex in the City and has served as a judge at the 2015 and 2016 CrossFit Games East Regional. Outside of the gym, you can find her cozied up reading books, being a dog mom to her rescue pup Maya, or exploring the city for the latest and greatest design trends.
Coach Sean is a CF Level 1 trainer at Equis Fitness. A high school athlete, he also has 6 years of Powerlifting experience under his belt. Like many of us, he lost motivation to continue to stay in shape when he discovered how much fun college was. Doing research online, he came across the CrossFit methodology of training and became obsessed with the idea of all the incredible things the human body can go through and endure.
Coach Kevin a CF Level 1 trainer at Equis Fitness. His athletic career started with Football, as an offensive and defensive lineman at Alfred E. Smith High School in The Bronx and later at Morrisville State College. He is no stranger to hard work and dedication! He fell in love with CrossFit in 2016 when introduced to the concept that no matter how good you are at something, you are most definitely going to come across something that you're NOT good at.
“A challenge is always going to present itself to you no matter what the workout is”, says Kevin. That’s what sold him – the variety of unexpected workouts and challenges that leave you wanting to overcome any obstacle that is in your way.
As a coach, he is focused and attentive but in real life he loves anime, reading Manga, and being outdoors on his bike or hiking. Kevin is also a law enforcement officer who cares deeply about protecting others – we are so thankful for his service!
